Erica Bloom
EXPERIENCED FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY

Meet Erica Bloom

Erica is a practicing family law attorney in Carlsbad, California. She grew up in the Oceanside/Vista area of North San Diego County. After attending University in Arizona, she promptly moved back to San Diego to attend law school as she missed her community. She has lived in San Marcos, California since 2015.

At the age of 26 and in 2016, Erica started her own law firm, where she now represents victims of domestic violence, and those going through contentious child custody battles. Erica also serves as Court Appointed Minor’s Counsel and Guardian Ad Litem, representing children in family court and giving them a voice when no other adult can. She strives to seek the best interests of her child clients, the foundation of most families.

Taking the time to listen and understand her client’s background, views, and interests are a cornerstone of how she practices law. This is what sets her apart from her colleagues. After years of representing clients and fighting for what she thought was the best outcome for a family and being let down, she came to realize the only way to make a positive influence in a family‘s life is to be that positive influence. Every opportunity she has to be involved in a family’s life is an opportunity to make a decision that is absolutely just, regardless of representation, regardless of where that person comes from.

Outside of work, Erica dedicates most of her free time to her community. Erica is the mock trial coach for Vista High School and has been instrumental in resurrecting the school’s program. Erica loves her students and is dedicated to giving her kids an opportunity to meet judges, understand the legal system, and be part of an experience that would otherwise not be available to them.

Erica also sits on the North County Bar Association Board of Directors, where she acts as the pro-bono committee co-chair, continuing education chair, and family law section co-chair. She is a part of the San Diego Unity Bar Association which seeks to promote a diverse judicial bench. Erica also recently received the 2025 Distinguished Woman Award from the California State Senate.

Last year, Erica helped found the San Diego Jewish Bar Association and still sits on the Board of the Directors as the Secretary. She also is an avid volunteer at One Safe Place, where she not only helps victims of domestic violence with the legal process, but she also hosts workshops for both men and women about the legal system. When not working or volunteering in the legal field, Erica volunteers at Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Facilities, as she has been doing since she was a child.

In her spare time, Ms. Bloom favors spending time with her Husband and two dogs, Kevin and Sadie.
